Rugby residents encouraged to join the conversation on proposed retirement community

Rugby residents will be encouraged to have their say on the proposed plans being brought forward for the town’s former Herbert Gray College site, at two public exhibitions to be held this month.

The proposals, being brought forward by Abode Senior Living will bring the former College site back into use by providing a care home set within a high-quality landscaped setting, enhancing the character and appearance of the area, which has needed transformation for many years.

The Abode is also proposing residential accommodation for the over 65s both for sale and rent. The proposed use of the site will be supported by a new spa, restaurant and central facilities for use by the residents, as well as the local community.

Abode have also announced details of two consultation events, which will take place at:

  • Collingwood Hall, Collingwood Centre, Rugby School, Barby Road, Rugby, CV22 5DZ
    • 2:30pm – 8pm, Monday 18th March 2019
  • The Arnold House, Elsee Road, Rugby
    • 2:30pm – 8pm, Wednesday 20th March 2019

Anthony Kan, from Abode Senior Living, said:

“We are looking forward to hearing from local community.  This is a fantastic development that will bring this disused site back into use for Rugby.  I hope to meet lots of residents at the exhibition and over the coming weeks.”

The consultation will provide an opportunity for residents to comment on and discuss the proposals with the project team.
