Building the first phase of homes commences
Bellway will shortly commence building 149 new homes as part of the first phase of construction at the Goods Yard Site. Work will begin later this month, with the homes expected to be completed by 2021.
Bellway are a major residential property developer who will provide specialist construction expertise.
Bus interchange to temporarily close for upgrade works – 3 November 2019
Bishop’s Stortford bus interchange is due to shut on Sunday 3 November to allow works to begin on the next stage of the redevelopment of Bishop’s Stortford station.
The closure of the bus interchange will allow work on the new Premier Inn to begin immediately. We anticipate the Premier Inn will open by Winter 2020.
Temporary stops will be in operation from 3 November 2019 and bus operators have been notified of the closure in anticipation of the works.

Overall, the regeneration of the site will deliver 589 new homes and will include an 85-bed Premier Inn hotel, 10,000 sq ft of new shops, 30,000sq ft of office space and a 55-bed care home. The scheme will also provide a range of station and transport enhancements including additional station car parking, better cycle and pedestrian links.
