Book your place at the Academy of Urbanism’s upcoming conference

Forty Shillings are delighted to be supporting The Academy of Urbanism with their upcoming event, Let’s think again about health! a one-day online conference that will be held next Thursday, 7th April.

With Forty Shillings’ extensive experience in regeneration projects for hospitals, later living and sports and well-being centres, we are keen to support the event, which will explore issues around creating places that promote good physical and mental health.

Human health and well-being are intimately linked to the state of the environment and the places we live. From climate change to urban environment ‘stressors’ including pollution and noise, the need for people to live and work in places that promote good health is important.

Urbanists, therefore, have a responsibility to get out in front of the problem, make the case for change and ask questions such as:

  • Should one fix be prioritised over another?
  • How do the various silos involved in city-making come together to solve these issues?
  • How can we ensure that our interventions add up to an holistic and equal change across all facets of society
  • These issues and more will be explored at the upcoming conference, over a series of sessions hosted by leading experts in the field.
